Dixons Carphone Choose DigiDesk For Monitoring Social Insight

Dixons Carphone wanted to gain more understanding of social mentions from customers, especially relating to ‘stock’ availability. They wanted to draw in relevant mentions across Twitter and Facebook with a specific subset of matching keywords and phrases, such as ‘available’, ‘unavailable’, ‘in stock’ and ‘out of stock’.

A key requirement was to be able to monitor these social mentions in real-time, through a series of live wallboards and real-time alerts. They were also very interested in looking at wider social insight across brands, models, colours and memory choice. This was to help better understand social user preferences and assist with forecasting customer demand.

Social Insight From DigiDesk

DigiDesk helped Dixons Carphone construct a series of keyword tables, with a number of relevant keywords and phrases. These keyword tables helped identify stock mentions and we created a number of custom widgets to track these mentions in real-time. We also created a series of real-time email alerts, triggered by specific keywords.

A real-time wallboard was also configured to track social insight. We created widgets to compare specific brands and models, as well as overall colour and memory choices. Automated daily, weekly and monthly reports were generated to help analyse the social insight and assist with future forecasting models.
